Floating Bridge and weight carrying capacity

I am intrigued by concept of floating bridge and would like to discuss same over here. How do we know the amount of weight a floating bridge can carry?

Floating bridge use Buoyancy concept. Not sure how to define mathematically.

This also works on the principle of Buoyant force, The weight can be determined by the surface area or how big the bridge is to displace the amount of water with respect to the weight of the bridge.
